Success Stories

Here are some pictures from the albums of a few happy owners who have given new homes and fresh starts to these lovely cats. If you are thinking about offering a home to one of our cats in care then take a look at these  pictures and you too could find yourself a success story.

In the latest of our success stories we feature Milly - formerly known as Jynx - a cat left abandoned in a box by its owner. She was found in the nick of time before she was cleaned up by bin men.

Two-year-old black and white cat Jynx was discovered in the Shirley and Co Esstate Agents car park on Farrier Street, Worcester, on Thursday, July 30, 2009.

Jynx was soon adopted by Jean Richings who renamed her Milly and eight months on Jean reveals the impact she has had on her life.  She said: "Since collecting Milly on August 7th last year she has put on weight and developed into a lovely cat. "She is marvellous company for me and has eased the pain of losing my previous cat Oscar. I couldn't have asked for a more loving cat so thank you for rescuing her - she has certainly rescued me!

There was a note taped to the box which read, ‘Dear Finder, please take care of Jynx, she needs someone to love and take care of her. God bless.

’Estate agent Shirley Jarvis found Jynx and handed her over over to the Worcester and District branch of Cats Protection.

Fran Holder, who runs the Cats Protection shop in St John’s, Worcester, said: “Jynx looked like she had been cared for as she had a collar on, was neutered and friendly but we can’t understand why the owner left her to fend for herself.

“Why she was left there is a mystery.
She wouldn’t have been found unless it was for Shirley.“As it’s in the middle of the city centre she would have found it difficult to find food and it’s dangerous with the traffic. She was very lucky.”

Milly is certainly a success story - if her tale helps to rehome even one cat that would be good."

BELLA

'loves her new garden'

Eliza Morris rehomed Toto, a lovely white kitten who was in the Worcester & District branch's care last year. Here she tells us how Toto is getting on....

"Toto was very nervous when I got her home but since then has become a loving, cuddly kitten who just loves to play. She carries around a toy mouse with her everywhere.

She carries it round in her mouth and constantly brings it to us every morning without fail as a little present.

"She has settled into her new home very quickly and loves sitting at the window watching everyone going by.  She has also started going out and loves playing in the garden too."

GABY

'asleep in a suitcase'

Anna Rhodes reveals how Gaby, who was in our care in 2007, has brought so much happiness into her family's life. This is her account....

"We adopted Gaby from the Worcester & District branch of Cats Protection in December 2007 after collecting her from a foster home in Bewdley, Worcestershire. She was six months old and had been a feral kitten for most of her life. At first she was very timid - she was playful, but wouldn't let you stroke her or pick her up at all.

"She has slowly but surely come out of her shell and now she is great fun. She is a real character and loves to be around people. She is still not fond of being picked up but loves strokes and fuss and really wants human company.

"She is also very gentle and never bites or scratches - even if you do pick her up!

Thanks very much - we are very pleased we have Gaby, she's lovely."

Thought you might like a Peter update. He is the most beautiful boy. We truly were so lucky with him.

Everyone who meets him wants to take him home with them.

This week he was neutered and both of the vetinary nurses loved him.

We think he's going to be quite a big boy as he's already bigger than both of my other cats and he is only 6 months old!!

Peter
