Cat Neutering

The cat neutering procedure is very simple, especially male cat neutering, but sadly, many owners are deterred from having their cat neutered because of the costs involved.

We may be able to help with the cost of neutering your cat.  You can qualify for support if you are the owner of the cat that is to be neutered and are on one of the following:

A full-time student
On a pension
On a means-tested benefit
On a low wage

If your application is successful, you will be sent a voucher which must be given to your veterinary surgeon when your cat goes for its operation.  Please note the current value of the vouchers are £20 for female cats and £15 for male cats - you will need to pay the remaining amount for the cost of the operation directly to the veterinary surgeon.

Why neuter your cat?

Neutering helps to prevent strays and produces a much more enjoyable pet, and will prevent unwanted kittens being born.  Please see our Cat Care page for further information on why neutering is recommended.

If you need further information about neutering your cat, please contact us.

We are also actively involved in the neutering of feral cat colonies, to try and keep their numbers from increasing.  We always try to return the adult cats to their colonies after neutering, but we will take any young kittens from the colonies and rehabilitate, socialise and re-home them, giving them a better quality of life, please see our Feral Cats page for more information.
