If you are a cat owner, you will know how worrying it can be when your beloved pet goes missing, below are some tips on where to start to find your cat
If your cat disappears.... then look in all rooms, cupboards, boxes, household appliances, e.g. washing machines. Sheds and garages, vehicles, gardens, hedgerows, lost & found section of the newspaper
Inform.... Neighbours, the police, local veterinary clinics, Local Cats Protection Branch on 07854 624739, local schools (children are observant as regards animals), Local RSPCA, Local PDSA, local Blue Cross, the cleansing department of your local council, your postman and milkman, newspaper delivery person, 'Pet Search' UK - contact 0121 704 4377
Advertise.... by putting posters on trees, distributing leaflets to shops, Post Offices, garages, local schools, veterinary clinics, local newspapers, radio, local notice boards, include a recent photograph of your missing cat
Finally.... The earlier you report your cat as missing, the more likely it is that he will be found. When your cat does return, DO inform any authorities who have been asked to look for him. Consider having your cat micro-chipped, but make sure if you move address that you inform the Micro-chip company of your new address.
Here at your local Cats Protection Branch we hold a register of cats that are reported to us as lost or found, it is worth giving us a call on 07854 624739 to check if we have any information on your cat.
You can also try the national Animal

Gemma
|
![]() |
Gemma went missing while on holiday at the Ramslade Caravan Club Stoke Gabriel Devon She is used to going away on holiday and doesn't€™t wander far so we are very confused as to why this has happened and are totally devastated. She could possibly have got into someone's boot or caravan and could now be anywhere in the country which makes our search even harder. She is just under a year old, a British Blue with cream patches, a cream stripe down her nose and a bend at the tip of her tail. She is also micro-chipped and neutered. |

Herbie
|
Hi my
Tabby Cat, Herbie has been missing since August 13th.
He has gone missing before and was taken to a vet in
Kidderminster so had probably got into someone's car or van
and, as he is micro-chipped, we were reunited. However for the last couple of years he has done less wandering and has not gone missing for more than a couple of days at a time. He has quite a distinctive face (he lost part of the top of his mouth under his nose in an accident a few years ago and he walks with a slight limp as he broke his left front leg and has a metal plate in it). Herbie is around 6-7 years old, very affectionate and was not wearing a collar (he lost it a few days before he went missing). |
